Yeah. And Bedard doing what he can: doubling and scoring to help his (lost) cause...

I'm not watching the game, just checking in on ESPN... What the heck happened to get Maybin to 3rd :o on Barmes' error. Where did that ball go?

Playing small ball: a walk, an error and a single loads the bases for McHenry with no outs.

Now is the time for him to build his legend....

Edit: And he walked!!! I love it.

Now, if Barmes can make up for his error....

Bedard gets on base, again, scores.

Walker gets his third hit of the game.

McCutchen doubles them home and then Jones hits a triple.

An eight run inning where we hit for the cycle and it's still going on....

Edit: really neat function, that I haven't seen on a message board before, that notifies you if a post is made while you're typing out your post. I've moderated two message boards and am active on a third, and never seen this functionality. If this is a mod-enabled option, Kudos.

Bedard, if he can get out of this inning, is coming up to bat next inning. Given that he's scored twice, I'd be tempted to let him hit :D

And both Cinci and St Louis are tied in their games. If the spirit of Zoltan really is with us, they'll both lose....

Still in shock: 10-5 and we're still only top of the 5th.

Erik's two runs today are the first two of the season for him.

Actually, didn't realize he'd spent his entire career in the AL prior to coming here. Those are the first two runs of his career! Way to go Erik!

And a 1-2-3 inning. And he's leading off the bottom of the 5th. Let him hit!

bullpen coming through today. Resop has a nine-pitch inning and Qualls follows it with an 11-pitch inning.

The Bucs decided to wake up and play baseball again. That's good! They must have heard me complaining!

They need to keep the pedal to the metal.

Winning is much more fun than losing. 8-)

At 37 and a decade removed from lacing up the spikes & I would look 2x as athletic as Bedard running the bases.

Yep, 5 for 5 today.

Everyone's making a statement today.

Let's just hope it lasts. We are beating up on the Padres ;)

Concerning Cutch's and Walker's 'lulls'...

Isn't Cutch still batting a collective .900+ OPS this month and/or since the break?

Didn't Walker have a 4/5 RBI night earlier this week?

Baseball, both individually and collectively, is like Blackjack; play 100 hands, hope to win 51. Anything more is just gravy.

Let's not go full yinzer here.
