The goat horns should not be difficult to award tonight for Animal.

You still can't be the I Told you so guy because Lincoln isn't the issue here.

I'm also not sure what Toronto is using Lincoln for, he's only made 3 appearances and pitched 5 innings since being acquired.

pathetic...it seems that every team will blow a big lead at least once a year, this was the pirates game, but what was very upsetting is that we again blew it with the bullpen

Lincoln might not have saved them in some of these games, but he'd be a nice insurance policy to have against some of these guys faltering.

Pathetic is the operative word. What a debacle.

Chance on Snider for the next few years was worth Lincoln being good for this year.

i think we will have the best outfield in baseball for the next 5 plus years, not like a one year fluke with bay mclouth and nady....
we have 2 superstars with a pretty good snider rounding out the 3...

Honestly, I think you guys are pathetic. Half the people on this board panic every time the Pirates lose two in a row. Makes me crazy. It's a frickin 162 game season. Yeah, it was a bad loss. Every team has them. Shake it off and win the series.

If you can't understand fans getting upset after blowing a 7-1 lead at home in a pennant race then you are a clueless fool. What is hard to understand about the fact that it's hard to take? Nobody said it's over. All anybody said is that it was an unacceptable loss. Can you dispute that? Stop with the dumbass rhetoric and accept the fact that it was a terrible loss. The season isn't over...but it was a terrible loss. FACT.

I would agree wholeheartedly if the Bucs didn't have Locke and Wilson waiting in the wings.

The Nationals blew a 10-1 lead earlier this season against the Braves and they're still on first, still playing well. It's one game. Turn the page and move on.

That said, J-Mac needs to skip a turn in the rotation or something. He's checked out.

First off, I overreacted to everyone else overreacting. I apologize for the name calling. It was uncalled for.

Having said that, I found nothing 'pathetic' or 'unacceptable' about last night's loss. It was everything I love about baseball. Sure I'm disappointed that my team came out on the short side. But the only things I find pathetic or unacceptable in baseball are lack of effort and/or focus. Neither were evident last night.

Last night, the 'pathetic' bullpen gave up two runs over 4.1 innings on a shot that probably would have been a fly ball out on a windless nights at PNC, that's baseball. The 'unacceptable' offense scored 8 runs, came from behind twice and hit the ball hard all night but came up short in the end, that's baseball as well. These things even out over the course of a 162 game season. If you have a good team, you'll win games like this more often than you lose them. This year, the Pirates do and they have.

It was an exciting game. Too bad they couldn't find a way to pull it out. Go get 'em tomorrow. That's my attitude and, I hope, the attitude of the players in the Pirate locker room.
