First off, would anybody have ever thought we'd be writing 08/01/12 on things and that the Bucs would be 15 games over .500, just a couple games out of first, and in line for the wild card? AMAZING SEASON. FUN! EXCITING. In what was a pitchers duel for six innings, then became a blowout, then became a nail-biter, the Bucs pull it out. Hanrahan made us sweat in the end, but came through with 3 Ks when he needed to!

They just continue to amaze me more and more. After horrible games Sunday and Monday, the come back with nice wins Tuesday and Wednesday. They took 2 out of 3 from Cubs, after taking 3 out of 4 from Astros, sitting at 5-2 on the roadtrip. Two out of three from Reds would be phenomenal! But I want to get greedy. I want a sweep. I want the Bucs to come home next week in first place!!

Now, onto the good stuff!

STARTER: Karstens did not have his best stuff. Threw way too many pitches, 93 in just 5 innings. But the overall results were not bad. Just one run in those 5 innings. Calling this a GOOD START! Only downfall was the lack of going six, giving the pen an extra inning.

WIN: Karstens gets the win to improve to 4-2, with ERA of 3.70.

HOLDS: Resop (6), Watson (11), and Hughes (11) all earn holds pitching in relief in what was a one-run game.

Honorable Mention: Hughes comes into a one-run game in the 7th with tying run at second and two outs. Runner then stole third and Hughes left him there to earn an HM. Marte did not have the best game, a couple bad-looking at bats, but does hit solo HR to get the Bucs on the board to earn an HM. Snider goes 2-5 with a run. Pedro goes 2-5, to raise his average to an "almost respectable" .235. Shows off his speed with a Stolen Base too!

STAR #3: Just your typical 2-hit day for Cutch, plus 2 walks, raising his BA to .373. Scores three runs. Ho-hum!

STAR #2: Garrett Jones comes off the bench to go 2-2, including a two-run pinch hit double, scoring one and driving in three. This platoon may finally be the one that helps the team prosper, unlike the others that have been tried with GJ.

STAR #1: The Fort rises again!!!! McKenry goes 2-5 with HR, , a run, and 3 RBI, raising his BA to .273. Another awesome day for the FORT. Has anybody done more for this team in less opportunities, than McKenry??

Hey Animal and you know what else happened last year on August 1? I finally posted my report from my secret trip to Romania before the season.

You guys would not believe what the cystal ball said this year, but I don't want to spoil the fun.

Thanks, Animal.

However, in the seasonal totals, you have McKenry spelled "McHenry."

I think he deserves a proper spelling, eh?
