I saw that. Axford was overused by Macha, throwing more than 20 pitches in 3 straight appearances earlier this year. He has not been the same since. Bautista worked him to a 3-1 count, Axford threw a fastball away, and Bautista crushed it.

As much as I've criticized Correia, I have to say he looked like a different pitcher last night. His velocity was a tick better and his command was excellent. He only allowed 5 baserunners in 5.1IP and for the 1st time since 4/15 his FIP for a start was below 3, mainly due to his first HR-less start since in 6 tries. Maybe he digs the heat?
