NICE! Series win over Reds! Back to .500! Nice, winning homestand! Bucs pull one out tonight when it looked like the offense was going to fail them yet again. Nice to win a game without having to depend on Cutch to get it done.

STARTER: Burnett. Great Start! Leadoff double. Unearned run, then what like 18 straight outs or something? 7 innings. 103 pitches with 65 strikes! 2 hits, 2 walks and 3 Ks. Got his ERA down to 3.60. I heard that if you throw out that horrible game in Saint Louis, then his ERA is something like 1.60. WOW! Good trade for the Bucs for a change.

WIN: With that awesome performance and some late offensive heroics for the Bucs, Burnett gets the win!

HOLD: Another hold for Grilli and 2 more Ks in one inning pitched!

SAVE: Hanrhan is shakey again, but gets it done!

STAR #3: GJones has two hits, including a triple and scores one of the two Pirate runs.

STAR #2: Burnett not only pitched an awesome game, got his first hit in a couple years!

STAR #1: Matt Hague. Went back and forth between Hague and Burnett as #1...but Hague redeemed an earlier at bat when he did not get the job done, by not only tying the game with a hit, but giving us the lead with an EXTRA BASE HIT. Six game hitting streak for this rookie....a hit in each game since his recall. He is going to start bunching them together!

Honorable Mention: Couple of HMs for tonight. Jordy Mercer got his first start and first hit right off the bat. Played some really nice D too. Walker worked a couple walks including the one that got the inning going with two outs and led to our first run. Grilli also getting an HM tonight for his really good work in a one run game.

I think the ball girl down the first base line deservers an HM. Two great catches.

Agreed. Hurdle should make Tabata watch video of her. (of course she is probably 19 or so, way to young for Tabata's tastes............ :D )
