What's with these Pirates? They stand there and TAKE strike one on the first pitch, then swing late and either foul off the second pitch or swing and miss at at ball out of the strike zone. They are quickly behind in the count 0-2.

It's very frustrating to watch.

How about swinging on the first pitch....SOMETIMES!

PS: I wonder if this miserable offense will score enough runs to win this game tonight and not let another fine pitching effort by JMac go by the wayside.

Two singles with two outs right before the pitcher's at bat. Classic.

So what do you guys think the Nats would be willing to offer for McCutchen? He KILLS them. I don't know why they don't just bounce four pitches in the dirt and let him take first.

We are very lucky Andrew McCutchen is a Buc and... that NH got the contract done before this season.

Jose Tabata might be the early goat here. He needs to catch that ball. McDonald deserved a better fate.

Looked like me in little league after a ball was hit in my direction while I was playing in the dirt.

Tabata hard to figure. He seems slower, worse on defense, and certainly not hitting as well. Definitely looked silly on that ball.

Tabata would be pretty ticked if he heard that statement ...

But you're safe. He did not hear a thing you said.

Nice, gutsy win. They gave themselves every reason to fold against a really hot team, and refused to do so. One of my favorite W's so far this year.

Let's take at least 1 in Motown and call this a decent trip.
