Tonight's line up is a throw back to the bad old days.

1-0 Reds w/ no one out.

Down 3-0 after a long 10 batter inning. Vazquez let two balls go through at 3rd that Andy would have caught. Ugh.

Once again the victims of some very terrible officiating so far in this one. It doesn't help our team didn't feel like playing defense either. 6 of 7 the pitches Maholm threw to Cueto were strikes. Before that, Miller got away with swinging and still drew ball 4.

Totally agree. I think I'm nauseous.

I have been told that I am paranoid and wrong about the Pirates being on the receiving end of more crappy calls, by far, than the opposition.

Holy Cow! That was foul by ALOT. Worst umpires...ever

EDIT: Thank god for instant replay. wohooo!

I hate being picky, but I have felt the hate from MLB since that bad called ball on Suppan that led to the big inning the other day from Ohlendorf when it was tied up. Oh well, baseball is baseball. We have had a few go our way this year too that were obviously bad calls.

Jesse Chavez is having an extremely bad day.

Yes, for us. But no, for these kids. This is the crucible that will make talented players become MLB players... hopefully ones that can win.

I don't get to see a lot of MLB double headers. Is it unusual for Chavez to appear in both games?

It didn't used to be unusual...now it is...unless one of the games is for only 1 or 2 batters.
