Brewers going with the pitcher-batting-8th approach.

Strike em out, throw em out is sure a fun play whenever it happens. Best when it's not the Pirates making outs.

9 pitches in 1st for Maholm

Nice patience by Jones. Get us a double or something here Andy!

Moss ... good heavens, he will swing at the breaking ball in the dirt, every time. He swung at a pitch that winds up going to the backstop.

Why don't the Pirates take some steps to prevent Moss from this repeated and confounding habit?

Wow Milledge making up for some bad fielding in the past with a great cut-off to hold the runner to a single which leads to a double play. Could be a game saver later on. This might be a time in the game that we look back at.

Lots of quality groundouts for Maholm tonight. The Brewers seem to be swinging at many of the pitches he wants them to. Maholm never really seems to pitch much differently to me. It seems to me when gets knocked out early and hitters do well against him, they are either very patient and wait for a good pitch to hit or they just get lucky. It also helps that he owns the crap out of Fielder.

John Russell is nuts bringing in Hanrahan to face Braun. Completely nuts.

He started Fatler with a change then a slider. Maybe Teke and Blass had a talk with him.
Nice win.

Things we learned tonight:

Young is the man
Moss is not a major leaguer
Capps was not scary
We all feel the Brew Crew sweep love

Is it time for this yet?

Oh yes it's time. This might be the last one of the season.

Very good series, all around.

Nothing better than beating the crew after a losing streak!
