Wandy calls out the trainers to look at his elbow...Uh oh!

In comes the bullpen with no outs recorded in the 1st.

Crap. Double crap. Triple crap.
Sounds like Wandy may have a serious medical issue with left arm.

Morton and Cole might want to get their bags packed in Indy.

Can't help but think that we are about to see the following rotation:
Burnett
Liriano
Locke
Morton
McDonald

Can Cole be far behind?

I know there are worst first innings to be had, but right about now, it's kind of hard to imagine one...

This week keeps getting worse. I know a season has peaks and valleys... so can we be at the bottom of this one yet?

It's only 1-0 after one and a half innings, but it seems like it's 10-0.

Seems like the flavor of the day for some is to swing at the first pitch. If it is not in the zone...well so be it.

People just aren't used to seeing the Pirates lose because it hasn't happened much since early April.

They're finishing out a pretty tough stretch of schedule ("The Gauntlet", etc.) ... they took two out of three in Milwaukee, three out of four against a great Tigers team, one of three against Cincinnati (disappointing since it was a home series, but getting Cueto and Latos in a series is tough), and even if Atlanta completes the sweep today, going 6-7 over that span when 8 of the games were played on the road isn't too bad at all. Especially with the cushion they built up leading up to it.

I think that the reaction thus far today is primarily focused on Gomez' injury in the first inning on Sunday and not Wandy's injury in the first inning today. The Bucs have potentially gone from a "what do you do with Morton and McDonald when they come off the DL" to "holy crap . . . we only have three healthy starting pitchers."

There's more of that sparkling defense Barmes is known for.

13 plate appearances. 7 strike outs. More than 50% of the time, this team isn't putting the ball in play. Awfully hard to put up anything other than zeroes when you aren't requiring the other team to play defense.

Agreed, No. 9. But kudos to Bryan Morris for tossing 3 and 2/3 scoreless innings on 50 pitches. Great outing for him yet again.

Geeze, it's like deja vu. That's what I was going to post.

Another horrific half-inning by the offense. But now they are at 8 Ks in 17 plate appearances. At least they are under 50%.
