The Radio Crew had said that statiticians went back and Martin was credited with an RBI the other night (the 27th). It was his first RBI since May 14th.

Now he has his first walk-off RBI as a Pirate.

Two weeks without a RBI and now two---one monster one---in a series vs. the AL Champs.

Storybook stuff.

Man I'm giddy. This is so much fun. Edge of the seat baseball, never quitting.

Raise the Jolly Roger! Go bucs. 33-15 since a slow 1-5 start.

What, we're not giving him credit for his walk-off pop fly against the Astros?

The pitching has been nothing short of spectacular. The one true kryptonite seems to be guys who are strikeout artists. We seem susceptible to the K up and down the lineup. But, with the starters keeping us in it and the bullpen holding down the fort in later innings we're usually able to hang around until the starter tires or we get a weaker bullpen guy.

Exciting stuff.

The Royals score in the 9th inning to tie the Cardinals at 2 a piece... the Cardinals losing is the only way this night could get better!!

Y'know, something about taking 3/4 from the Tigers makes me feel damn good about this team.

I know the collapses from last year and the year before have broken some hearts but if we look at this team it's better than those two.

Locke dealing in his 25 year old season is certainly encouraging.

AJ hasn't given up more than 3 ER all season.

Liriano has been a pleasant surprise and is more than capable of holding down the back of the rotation with Locke.

Jeanmar Gomez is pitching very well right now and if he can't sustain his success as a starter, he could certainly be another piece in the bullpen equation.

Wandy is dealing right now too.

Martin is the best backstop the team has seen since Kendall.

McCutchen is the best player the team has seen since Giles.

Marte is experiencing some regression but has proven that he should be in Pittsburgh.

Walker is coming into his own after a slow start.

Jordy is forcing Hurdle and Huntington to give him a chance now. While he may not be the answer at SS, he is certainly a viable option.

Garrett Jones (who I've watched since he was on the Rochester Red Wings and is probably my second favorite player behind Cutch) is doing business as usual.

etc...

While the K rates are high and the staff seems to be pitching out of their minds, I do believe that this will be the first Pittsburgh baseball team to crack the .500 mark in (literally) as long as I can remember.

I have to be honest, I envy you guys on this board who got to watch Clemente, Stargell, Sanguillen, Maz, Bonds (in a Pirates uni), etc...

Since I was born in 1991 I have fairly low expectations of the Pirates but this team is solid across the board and I hope this year will bring the first winning season that I can remember.

Roger that.

This season should be dedicated to all of you who haven't lived through a winning season. Enjoy it, because this is a heck of a ride!

No one is offended by you. We just find your mood swings on this board curious.

Pitcher throwing a shutout into the 7th inning and he walks the leadoff batter..."You suck ____, get him out of there!!"

No offense Clevelandsux, it's just humorous!

Actually, I come here pretty frequently. I did say that these were game-day quotes, I should have been more explicit about calling them game-day THREAD quotes. I fully get the difference between the tone of your usual posts and those posted in game day threads.
