Note for future reference: Justin Verlander (un)intentionally walked Russell Martin to pitch to Pedro Alvarez... then struck him out a second time. Pedro can't be the kind of hitter that pitchers want to face with guys on base. He's gotta become more consistently dangerous.

I don't agree that he pitched around Martin for starters (his control had been shaky before that as well and got some generous calls), but even so, the opposite happens with Alvarez as well. Like the other night in the Brewers series when Alvarez was further down in the order and they intentionally walked him to load the bases and pitch to Barmes.

DANGER, DANGER!

Liriano's starting to consistently fall behind hitters. That's not good.

Verlander is just manhandling Pedro. Definitely preferred pitching to him rather than Martin.

Pedro must play. Pedro must hit somewhere 4-6. Pedro is a huge threat with his power. But...Pedro must gain consistency...simple as that.

Liriano's hanging tough, my friend. He gave up a bloop hit to Fielder on a good 0-2 pitch, and Perralta just hit a single on a perfect changeup down and away. Can't do anything about that.

The fifth inning when Liriano had given up one run was not too long to keep him in nor has that been a problem this year like your "once again" line would suggest. I think you're just trying to come up with one of your usual negative reactionary bits once the Pirates are losing.

Wow, offspead, offspead, offspead, offspead to Martinez and somehow turns on a 3-2 fastball.

Great hitters on this tigers club. Their big dogs have doubled our guys in rbi's. They must get a ton of base runners on. Liriano can't command his fastball. Pirate hitters can't touch verlander. Not going well.

I'm rightfully entitled to my opinion. Today is memorial day where many of men have died so we can have the freedom of our own opinions.

Liriano was wearing before he gave up the three runs.

Man, I'm not feeling Contreras in there right now. I can't tell if anyone is up in the bullpen.

Maybe hurdle is trying to rest the pen?

I'd rather he win the game. There are arms in AAA that can be used. Contreras is very, very expendable.

The Contreras situation is all on Hurdle in my opinion. You knew immediately he had no idea where the ball was going. Unreal. Hurdle is finally coming out. We may have seen the last of Jose. I bet Wilson is called back up.

Poorly managed by hurdle. Contreras can't even find the plate, but he keeps him in there. Left liriano in there a few batters too long. Get the big league chew out of your mouth Clint and wake up!

Why pitch him in a 1 run game? I thought his role was solely garbage time?

Uh, okay. It sounds like you need to apply that train of thought to my opinions as well then since me disagreeing with you caused you think you weren't allowed to have your own opinions. As for what I said about you doing your usual thing about being negative, anyone who regularly posts here knows that what you do is post stuff in games threads like "Wtf!" and "send this guy to the minors!" and "way to suck (player X)!". And yes, before you say it again, that is your prerogative and you have the right to do so. But that's why I said you were just doing your usual thing when what you were saying about the game (Liriano) was inaccurate. I guarantee prior to the runs given up in the fifth you wouldn't have been calling for Liriano to be pulled, you would have been saying he was pitching a fine game.
