This is getting fun!!! Break up the Bucs. We need a nickname for them! The Comeback Crew? Another nice, comeback win. Good starting pitching. Great Bullpen. Timely, clutch hitting. Contributions from many. That spells a LOT of wins. To me, it's especially rewarding getting these nice wins without much contribution from Cutch, cause you KNOW that is coming! Ok.....let's get to it.

START: Went back and forth on this one. Ultimately, you want your starter to give you more than 5 innings with 3 runs...but JMac looked better than the numbers indicate. I am calling this a GOOD START!

WIN: Justin Wilson goes 2 scoreless innings, with 2 Ks, to earn his second win. 2-0 ERA 1.29.

SAVE: Watson goes 2 innings, gives up a couple hits and a run, but still earns his first save on a day when Grilli was unavailable.

Honorable Mention: Lots of HM love to go around. Let's start with JMac. Did what he had to. Looked great at times. Okay at other times. Added two singles into the mix. JWilson wasn't perfect..coming into a jam with 2 on and no outs....letting a run score on a SAC FLY...but gettting out without further damage and going 2 innings. The Fort goes 1-4 with RBI. Pedro goes 2-5 off a tough left hander. Snider comes off the bench and goes 1-3 with a run. Total Team Effort!

STAR #3: Hard to consider a guy with 3 strikeouts for a star, but despite the 3 Ks, Marte went 2-5, plus a walk and 2 runs. His score on a shallow Sac Fly was awesome. There is not a lot of guys in the league who could have scored on that!

STAR #2: It was just one AB, but what an AB it was. GJones with a bases loaded PH double to break the game open in the 8th.

STAR #1: Giving it to Gabby Sanchez. He went 2-4 with HR and 3 RBI. (Of course he would never have had the SF if not for Marte!) But he was the offense we needed today. His BA has crept up to .278 with 3 HR and 11 RBI.

You know, we've been pinch hitting really well lately.

Maybe Hurdle should get a star somewhere in the mix....

I know what you are saying, but I don't give Hurdle stars.

But then again, he has a lot better OPTIONS to PH than he did before. In years past, we had guys on the bench who barely belonged in the majors. Now we have guys who have been there, have been starters, are still considered starters are part of a platoon.

Spitballing nicknames:

Believin' Bucs?

Hurdle's Hombres?

Cutch's Crusaders?

Grandmaster Cutch and the Furious Five?

It can't be forced. Honestly, it will probably come from one of our announcers going crazy after a walk-off win.

Are you suggesting that Grandmaster Cutch and the Furious Five is a forced nickname? BALDERDASH!

We all know that for the Pirates that baseball 'is like a jungle sometimes it makes us wonder how they keep from going under'.

I was trying to think of something relating to all the comeback wins.
