That last double hurt coupled with the HBP. Good outing for AJ goes to so-so despite the strikeouts.

I guess it doesn't matter anyway because the offense isn't going to put any runs on the board.

The thing I most want to hear ...

"Carlos Marmol is warming up to come into the game."

I can't imagine an opening day so poor offensively since...since at least last year's.

Holy smokes, wake me up when the Pirates hit the ball out of the infield.

The Bucco bullpen looks good today.

If that error by John McDonald isn't the most ironic thing ever.

McDonald looking slick in the field. I guess he's here for his bat.

Melancon able to induce a fly-out to the warning track in center.

Marmol's delivery is just a thing of beauty.

My counterpoint to caring about a loss: didn't the Pirates actually have a MLB record for most consecutive opening day wins prior to last year's loss? Well, last year was the closest they got to .500 in that span. Embrace the new, reversed record.

Do you want a nine iron for that Garrett? Ball four? Nope. Strike Three.

Pathetic.

Is there a more frustrating thing to witness as a fan than a hitter flailing at ball four to strike out when the damn thing bounces to home plate?

Alright, Pedro. Hey, all it takes is one swing. You never know.

Personally, Jones taking the first two strikes right down the middle during that AB had me more frustrated.

Marmol's tenure as closer looks like it will come to an earlier end than previously thought.

You can't just have Samardjiza throw lefty and send him back out there. That is against the rules!

I'll play.

I find it more frustrating to watch a player who is counted upon to be a run producer whiff with a man on third and one out - particularly when the opposing team put up 2 runs in the top half of the inning. Could've been an "answer" and changed momentum. Instead, a lost chance to score.

But watching Garrett flail at ball four? Yeah, I find that awfully frustrating as well.

When smardj is on he's really nasty. I remember watching a few of his starts last year where he didn't have great command of his fastball and his breaking stuff didn't follow suit. Those outings where short lived.

Problem is he's turning into a killer against us. Great starts everytime. Nuts. Add that and the pirates lineup isn't all that great and you have a disaster in the making.

We must come together and designate John McDonald as "goat." It must be done.
