I'm alive and well. I'm staying with my in-laws in Whippany, NJ, which is well west of the storm. We got torrential rains and some downed branches, but no damage to me or my family.

I can't say the same for my town, Hoboken. For those of you who don't know, Hoboken is located across the Hudson River from Manhattan. Check out some of the photos of the damage here:

As you can likely see, I will be camping out at the in-laws for a little while longer.

Good luck Willton and I'm glad you're okay. I've been following the havoc on CNN. CNN has shown Hoboken and how it's been affected by Hurricane Irene.

Hurricanes bring many types of destruction. Lots of work to do to recover from that storm.
