Hey all,

Normally wouldn't do this kind of self-promotion, but I thought some folks might be interested because a. the book is baseball-related, b. if you happen to have young children, and c. the UPPMB actually gets a mention in the "acknowledgments" in the back of the book.

I am a cartoonist/illustrator by hobby and I recently self-published a children's storybook. All of the illustrations are done 100% by hand, and it is 32 b+w pages (w/ color cover). The book is $8 (shipping included) and all proceeds go toward the printing/production costs of my next bigger and better quality-wise book project. It is suitable for all ages but the reading level might be more in the 3-5 range. If interested feel free to drop me a PM. As the title might suggest, it is about a monitor lizard that plays baseball. Thanks for listening to the rant.

So, so cool. I will get a Paypal account and purchase one when I get home tonight. We all have kids/nieces/nephews/grandkids/friends that could use a book like this. Time for the UPPMB to step up! ;)

Appreciate it, IA. Just wanted to say - if you don't want to go the Paypal route we could work something else out. Just didn't want you to go through the hassle if it wasn't necessary.

Congrats, Mark!

I, myself, am feverishly working on a cozy mystery set here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. My detective is a 40 year old blind woman, so I think I've got a good enough schtick to get some interest. But the most important thing is that you completed the project and actually published. Good for you!

Thanks, val. I agree with what you're saying, finally getting to the publishing process truly makes book making a special medium (especially with the expenses you commit to self-publish). Best of luck on your novel.
