I'll be away from Pirates baseball this weekend and in Ames for the Cy-Hawk Series game! Might I be seeing any board members at the game?

Hope your Cyclones do not get abused again this year, IA. But I wouldn't bet the rent.

Was a fun game to watch. Much better than the Penn State game thus far :(

I'll give kudos when kudos are due. ISU took Iowa to the woodshed and very much earned the victory. While I have plenty of comments regarding strategic decisions down the stretch and into OT . . . they are irrelevant. Congrats IA Pirate. The 'Clones exposed many flaws.

ZM is flying in on Friday for the Pitt/Iowa game in Iowa City. He had to endure the Hawks beating up PSU last year but, if Iowa doesn't plug some gaping holes this Saturday, he will be wearing a big smile after what Pitt may do to Iowa's defense.

As I am guessing that this was directed towards me, I apologize for not responding sooner. To be blunt, I've visited the Board very infrequently since the disaster of August.

I was not in Ames. I'm glad I was not in Ames . . . and so is Kirk Ferentz, Ken O'Keefe and Norm Parker. I might have been on ESPN strangling each and every one of them for some of the strategic decisions made in the second half and in OT.

I'll only write this . . . I hope that KF and KOK were watching the ND/Michigan game when those two teams scored 3 TDs in 1:12 with neither team possessing any time outs. KF and KOK's decision to sit on the ball in a tied game in a hostile stadium with 1;17 left in the game, two time outs and needing only 45-50 yards to get into realistic FG position is - in my not-so-humble-opinion - inexcusably bad.

The ISU fans who were watching the game with me were giddy with excitement when Iowa conceded going into overtime because they felt that 1:17 was more than enough time to get into FG territory . . .

I'm no Kirk Ferentz basher but I'm pretty sure that Paul Rhodes wouldn't have "sat" on the ball in the same situation if he was in Kinnick. SIGH

And to top off the situation, I'm a Chiefs fan. What a miserable weekend of sports.

No. 9, if it makes you feel any better I still cannot wrinkle my forehead because of the excruciating sunburn I received. My goodness, I look like a lobster. Suntan lotion wasn't exactly on my mind when we were tailgating at 5:00 AM! By the time I started to notice my face was a little tender it was too late, we were already in the stadium.

Aloe is my friend.

Are you really complaining? Now, you won't have to paint your face this Saturday.

Very good point! I just hope I can make some facial expressions without wincing in pain by then :)

I'd rather have you sporting a pasty white complexion and have Iowa's coaching staff demonstrate that they have something other than vaginas underneath their pants. Sorry . . . that was not very politically correct. If DocJeano reads this, I apologize.

Nice picture, IA. You can sense the excitement in the air.

Is that you on the left with the blond hair and the reddest face?
