Too bad we couldn't have dimantled the non active teams and picked up their players...oh well...I wish I'd have done better but I swear I had someone new going on the disabled list once every two weeks...

Then ran out of pitching...I probably made Dusty Baker proud

Congrats Bucco Boy!!!

Holy cow. I didn't even realize it until I saw this post.

What a battle it was. I am humbled, but it was good to get back into the championship column. It has been several years. Actually, I had won back 2003 and 2004 so it was five seasons.

Thanks again.

Head-to-head leagues usually take care of this...

Were you on a 5 year rebuilding plan?

Yes, maybe I should be the GM of the Pirates.

So I'll assume most of our active owners will be back next year?

What should we do with the inactive teams? Contract and redraft the players? Find new owners (we certainly have quite a few new members who happen to be geniuses when it comes to how one should turn a franchise around, they should have no problem showing us all how its done  )?

The question that I am asking myself is, what makes for a better league: 12 teams with a couple inactive owners or only 9 teams? The smaller the league, the less challenging it is to find replacements throughout the season, which takes some of the fun out of it. However, inactive owners are such a drag. I thought becoming a keeper league would be incentive for last place teams to stay active as you can try and milk a keeper out of contenders who are desperate for help down the stretch.

H2H would be one way to go, but I generally don't like H2H baseball because the season is so long and encompasses vacation season, and being gone for a week can destroy you in H2H. I much prefer H2H in football.

Get new owners. I really don't want to do an expansion draft every year. And I loathe head to head and baseball. My vote is roto all the way.

I vote keep it the way it is and look for new owners...If there would be a sign of inactivity, would there be a way to delete the team and send their players back in the free agent pool?

If we are keeping 10 players, which I still think is a lot, then I think 10 teams is a good number. Especially with roto I actually like to have a few players to select from in the free agent pool. It makes getting back in to contention a bit more possible. As is, if you get behind the eight ball with injuries and such, you have slim to no chance of catching up. You could also add another roster spot to each of the ten teams to reduce the number of free agents.

I say get rid of the inactives and throw their players back in to the draft. Just have a regular draft and try to get 10 active teams. I actually like head to head, but this is my only roto league so I like it for the variety.

Bottom line for me is I'm in regardless, so go with whatever you guys want. That was just my two cents(which is about all I have!)

Not to call them out, but what teams were inactive? I didn't really notice.

Here is a list of each manager and the last time they logged in to the league. It doesn't tell you how often they log in, just the last time they did. You can monitor this throughout the season under the "League" menu by clicking on managers.

It looks like three were basically inactive. Look for three new owners. If you only find one or two, let them choose what team they want and put the other players back into the draft. A 10 team league isn't horrible. Just makes the teams better.

As one of the inactive owners...I'm willing to sell my team to someone else or to completely dismantle and send my players to other teams.
