Pirates vs Nats 5/3: Bucs lose 9-8

Blame for this loss can be spread around pretty good. Main blame goes to Maholm for putting the team behind early in the game. Two big errors by Gomez at SS. McLouth goes 0-5. Nady drops a ball in RF in the sun. LaRoche killing two early rallies by grounding out. Osoria not being able to shut the door when he came in to pitch in the 6th inning.

I know I could look for the positives:
1.) Bautista
2.) LaRoche did have two singles
3.) Bay continues to play well (although he looked at a strike 3 today)
4.) Nady is still playing well
5.) Freddy is kind of getting it back at the plate but slowly....

Bottom line is the starting pitching. Snell, Gorzo, Maholm, and Duke are NOT "new young" pitchers at this point. They all have been around long enough that they all need to correct these ugly/great rollercoaster starts. They all have to become more consistent.

Agreed; Starting pitching is our main problem right now. Another positive to take from this loss is that we have managed to be pretty competitive this past week regardless of the opponent. I think we have stay positive with this ball club.
