Since we all like to second-guess the GM, I figured I would start a thread here asking people to predict what they think Bathmeier and Taubenheim will do this weekend, and if they don't think either of them will be useful, who they would have called up instead. Its too easy to spend Monday morning beyotching that one of them wasn't ready and NH was a fool for calling him up (or likewise praising him for a successful weekend), so lets hear what you think.

Personally, I would have preferred to call up Herrera over Taubenheim, BUT, Taubenheim's last 10 starts have produced a 3.50 ERA 1.13 WHIP and a 44:20 K:BB in 64.1 IP. Barthmeier has looked good in his handful of starts at Indy as well, and was a top prospect in Houston's system, so I guess I'm more excited about these guys than JVB or Bullington, or any of the guys available outside of the organization (Tomko, Taverez, Chacon, etc.)

My predictions:

Barthmeier: 5 IP, 4 ER, 3K's

Taubenheim 4 2/3 IP, 5 ER, 2 K's

Bucs win 1 of the 2.

And you are only allowed to make fun of how wrong those end up being if you have posted your own predicitons  .

I guess each of them will give up at least 1 run per inning pitched. They will each pitch 5 innings or more because Russell has little else to choose from.

Good team as oppponemt, so my guess is that we will not win either and unless it gets out of control each will last 5 or more innings.

Barthmeier--- 6 runs six inninings 9 hits 3BB
Taubenheim --- 8 euns 3 innings 9 hits 4BB
