Hey, what happened between Randy Johnson & Mientkiewicz? Benches cleared in the bottom of the 3rd. Was there a brush back pitch?

Doug was apparently taking too much time in the batter's box and was calling times when Johnson would get ready to pitch. Johnson didn't like it so he walked to the moud and they started yapping at each other. Doumit and a few others get involved and the next thing you know the benches and bullpen are out. No Tampa Bay-Boston repeat here, they settled down quick.

Another opportunity. Bautista up, runners on 1st and 3rd with one out. Yay.....and a Sac Fly to RF. Bucs take the lead again 2-1.

The aggressive base running paid off again.

Yeah, but I'd rather go ahead and take the sac fly instead of the possibility of grounding out into a DP, which surely could happen with the Pirates. Gettin it one run at a time!

I don't care how they score as long as they score.

I thought you were being sarcastic when you put "Yay" about the sac fly ... was just sayin. I'm with you, this team needs to score by any means necessary.

We should be running like this every game. I love it! Was that a hit and run or a straight steal by Jack?

5-1 Buccos! We've taken advantage of the errors and walks. Some big hits here and there as well. Zach looks like he'll go seven innings. Man, we could have won all four of these games vs. Arizona.

Did anyone think Bautista was safe at home in the 6th? I only saw a quick replay but it looked damn close.

WOW Yates got out of the mess -- one more inning.

This is a really exciting game. Wish I could see it, but maybe the radio is making it more exciting. This could be a very big win for this team.

This IS a very big game sub. The "old" Pirates would lose this game.
Let's hope the "new" Pirates win it! Looking good so far!

My prediction.. we win 3-1, get a solid six innings from Duke and a couple of big hits from Jose Bautista!

I'm not saying that I disagree with sitting LaRoche. I'm just questioning the logic. The reason that's been given by so many for continuing to put LaRoche out there is so that he gets hot and comes out of the "slump." He has a big day, so then you take him out of the lineup?

Some of us realize that a big day yesterday does not guarantee a big day today. Some also realize that you must rest your every day players occasionally so that you'll still have them in September, and that doing so for a second consecutive day game in oppressive heat and humidity is probably a good time for doing so.

I'd agree with that, but not with the guy you've been hoping "catches fire" all season.
