Really not looking forward to Bautista being back on the line-up, but alas I get to watch it on TV and suffer through the awful WGN announcers, so it should be a good afternoon.

We got away with one there, but heck, we're the Pirates, we deserve one. Besides, if it was fair, Rivas was at least at third by the time Soriano was even throwing it to the infield.

X-Man returns to the line-up today with ANOTHER solo blast. Man does this guy like to crush balls when no one is on base. I'd like to hear the WGN announcers complain about that one (they have already beat the Rivas HR to death).

Maholm has pitched well so far. He is getting behind but finishing out the Cubs batters quite nicely. Hasn't given up a hit yet. EDIT: Knew I shouldn't have spoken so soon.

Two HR's now for Rivas.

I wonder if he'll be in Jose Canseco's next book?

If you go out, watch out for flying pigs.

Boy, I think they need to sit Freddy for a few games. 2/13 this series.
I hope it's his shoulder, but he swings at too many really bad pitches. Many he just needs the rest.

Whatever the reason, he's hurting the team now.

Malholm is doing fine and needs to stay as long as he can without getting hurt. WE need the pen to get rest, period. Can he go 9?

At the start of the game, Bob Walk said he had the best chance of going 9 of anyone in the rotation...he had 2 complete games last season too

Tie game in the 7th and Bay hits a 410 foot double off of the wall. A real clutch hitter would have hit it 412 feet, or pulled it down the line.

Bay sux.

LaRoche has had a couple of nice hits today, but God, has a 3-0 count to lead off the 8th in a 1-run game and pops up on ball 4. Frustrating.

Gomez-Freddy-Rivas due up in the 9th. I wish Gomez wasn't leading off and he got to bat with someone on base! Well, I guess we can hope and pray for blast # 3 by Rivas ...
