How is Dejesus not a better option at this point than Inge?

He's not 'proven'.

I guess the true answer is Dejesus isn't on the 40 man roster and they would have to cut
Inge in order to make room for him.

Bring up d'Arnaud (who is on the 40 man roster), bench Barmes, cut Inge.

I don't think the Pirates have any faith in DeJesus despite his fine .861 OPS. They usually have him batting 8th or 9th and often have him DH-ing. He has 12 errors this year.

I think Harrison is the better choice. He has a higher OPS, a lot less errors, and a lot more steals.

Assuming Walker goes on the DL, I would bring up Harrison.

Regardless of Walker's status, I would DFA Inge and bring up Lambo.

I think Harrison is a very good AAA player at this point but has proven that he's not very valuable at the ML level.

d'Arnaud just went on the DL yesterday (after missing a chunk of the beginning of the season due to injuries as well). Furthermore he was hitting poorly when was healthy.

The difference is that Harrison has been given (several) chances in the Majors and always played poorly, DeJesus has not been given the chance (with the Pirates that is, he had just a few ABs in previous years with the Dodgers and Red Sox). You would expect Harrison to be hitting well in AAA, he has always hit for average in the minors and it's his second year there. But at this point you know what you're getting when he gets promoted because we've seen him yanked up and down quite a bit. With his uncanny inability to not take a BB and lack of power, if he can't hit for average in the Majors combined with the so-so defense I don't think he's really an asset at all, as JollyRoger said. DeJesus could very well turn out to be the same player, but he needs the opportunity first.

Unless the scouts are telling NH something bad about DeJesus' approach, swing or... something. I would DFA Inge and promote him to the 40 man as the roving utility guy over JayHey.

Pretty much what I've been saying about the guy since the day that they signed him. He was barely good in his best years. He owes his long career to his glove, not his bat.
