I know all the arguments about early in the season and we were almost this bad last year, but omg this is aweful to sit through.

Agreed. For me, it's easier to watch them lose slugfests than continually not score. Right now, they couldn't score if they were locked in a cat house with a pocket full of $20 bills.

yes, very difficult to watch. That's the beauty of dvr. Once it starts going downhill...I'll skip ahead two minutes at a time and it's still miserable...but I don't have to endure it for quite as long!

That's what Huntington does even when he's at the ball game. Buisness as usual. Anybody think he'll see the fruits of his labor come 2014?

I end my frustration by popping in MLB The Show 13 and beating the hell out of everybody with the pirates. Currently 43 and 24. Dare to dream! No fading down the stretch from this ole chap. I'm bringing home what the 90 thru 92 teams couldn't.

I guess the start helps justify my hesitation in buying mlb.tv again.

My wife appreciates this.

So much for Spring Training? What did this team work on in February and March? I thought this club would be improved from last year just because the core players have had another season under their belt?

Same bad baseball, same bad swings, same type of outs...all very predictable.

I know, I know, I know...it's early...BUT NOTHING this team is doing right now (or not doing) does not give me any hope for a successful season.

Right now the pirates couldn't a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle. I turned the game off in the 7th. It was 5-2. The weather is too nice to waste my time.

I still have MLB tv, but if things dont change soon, I will cancel.

You can say that again. Clint Barmes should be shot out of PNC Park on a giant catapult.

The Pirates tried to do that last summer. Pedro was sent out with an axe to cut the rope to launch the catapult and ...

Well, we know what happened.

I feel bad for McCutchen. And I don't know why any pitcher would bother pitching to him right now. Who in the world is going to beat you if he doesn't?

The losing and abysmal play does not surprise me in the least. I expect it after all these years. At this point a .500 season is looking highly unlikely.

I am becoming more and more convinced that Huntington and Hurdle are not the right men to lead this team.

Seriously, not the 5 very good starts out of 6? Or the very good work by the backend of the pen? Or the fact that we were 2-6 last year?

Your point being? Bass said "NOTHING" gives him any hope.

No one is arguing that this isn't fun right now, but its also not the end of the world. Its could be more bad timing with Greinke and Kershaw this weekend. Lets see what they do at Chase Field.

Agreed. Anybody remember starting the season 0-3 last year before winning two from the Phillies? Well, we then went and got swept by the Dodgers in LA, and lost 2 of 3 in San Francisco. We were 3-8 heading into Arizona and lost the first game of that series. It was in the second game at the Diamondbacks last year when the bats got hot. Karstens went down in the first inning, but Cutch, Walker and Garrett Jones went 10-for-14 with five RBIs and four runs in that game. That got things started. We took our lumps early, but we got better and ended April at 10-14.

This isn't fun yet, but it isn't the first time we've been through this, and you've gotta believe the bats will come to life.

I believe we were record setting bad for two months last year April-May, am I mistaken?
