The Pirates currently have 17 hits through 5 games played which ranks them last in MLB. The second worst team, the Cubs, have 29 hits. The Reds have 48 and Cards have 45. Most in the league is Baltimoe with 58 and Arizona, our next opponent has 57 team hits. The team batting average of .117 is dead last. The Pirates 6 runs is last with the second worst team having 11.

Tough times in Pittsburgh.

Yep, I've seen those numbers, and obsessed over them. Focus on the pitching. Take a deep breath. Focus on the pitching: 2nd in ERA, tied for third in walks allowed, 8th in strikeouts, and 3rd in total bases allowed. We've made a pretty impressive Dodgers lineup look toothless.

every team is going to have a stretch were they struggle to score runs, what is concerning here is they have struggled to even get scoring oppurtunities.
