Obviously we know nothing about these guys, but here's what Cole did to the first 6 batters faced today ...

- K swinging
- K swinging
- K swinging
- K swinging
- K looking
- K swinging

Currently in the third, he gave up a couple singles but picked off the runner at first and then induced a groundout to end the threat.

The Pirates line-up in this one is essentially what the 2013 Indianapolis team will probably look like, minus Gaby Sanchez. Ford, Pie, Robinson, Sands, Goedert, A. Hernandez, DeJesus Jr..

Felix Pie with a RBI single, followed by a double steal of second and third by Ford and Pie, a wild pitch scoring Ford, and then a RBI double by Gaby Sanchez.

Looks like Cole is done after 3 innings, Stolmy Pimentel (remember him, the pitcher acquired in the Hanrahan trade?) in to pitch the 4th.

Cole's line: 3.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K

A nice treat for the Spanish team to get to see ace stuff.

In other WBC news -

Pittsburgh top pitching prospect Jameson Taillon made a start for Team Canada during Tuesday's exhibition game against the Brewers. Taillon, prepping for the World Baseball Classic, went 2 2/3 innings before being pulled. He allowed two earned runs on four hits and two walks over his time on the mound. Taillon struck out two batters against mostly Brewers regulars.

The Buccos won the WBC? :)

Next up, the Manatees! Then we'll really be rolling....

Actually, I love all this ST stuff, and the odd games. I think it's great.
