Tonight at midnight is the Rule 5 deadline meaning that the Bucs need to move guys onto the 40 man roster to protect them. There really is no roster crunch with 6 open spots, but it will be interesting to see who they like out of the numerous players available. For a primer check out Tim Williams' site today. The obvious adds are Tony Sanchez and Vic Black, beyond that its a lot of maybes.

Also, Dayton Moore saved NH from himself signing Jeremy Guthrie to a 3 year $25 million deal. Come on NH bring us EJax!

KC DFA'd Adam Moore today, I realize he hasn't hit in the bigs and thus he is available, but he sure was a nice looking prospect not terribly long ago (he also was good at AAA in 2012). With our issues at C, he may be worth a look.

Per Biertempfel they added these 5 - Vic Black, Ramon Cabrera, Phil Irwin, Tony Sanchez & Hunter Strickland.

That exposes Nathan Baker, Jeff Inman, Kyle Kaminska, Gift Ngoepe, and Jarek Cunningham among others. I doubt that we will lose anyone, maybe Kaminska after a good AFL showing.

The Tigers released Ryan Raburn today. Was he injured last season or something? His numbers made Barmes look good.

Would he be worth a try for a utility spot? Can play 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and OF

I hope the Bucs don't lose Gift. He's been progressing well.

It would have been better if the Bucs had signed a Pumpkin pie.

Tim Williams was mistaken about Gift being eligible, he is safe for one more year before he would have to be added. It was a technicality due to signing date.

Add Zach Stewart, Bryan LaHair, Brent Lillibridge, Clint Robinson, Vin Mazzaro, Chris Volstad, Cory Wade, and Matt LaPorta to the list of interesting DFA's. Some of these guys are more appealing than guys like Rick Van den Hurk or Chad Beck on our 40 man roster.

Anderson Hernandez and Jeff Larish were signed too! Them and Felix Pie, Indy is ready to defender their Western Division Title...

Hernandez and Larish are AAA filler material but they had decent seasons last year at Indy. They won't see the bigs unless there is a rash of injuries and we are desperate. All teams have these types of players in the minors.

Robinson maybe. The example of GJ be damned; Clint's a tad long in the tooth for him to a ML 'diamond in a the rough'.

LaHair and LaPorta as a BIG maybe.

LaHair just signed with a team in Japan.

Wow, really?!

I mean, I know he's a 'seasoned' MiL vet and struggled down the stretch last year, but he was fairly competent.

Looks like I nailed three of these guys. ;)
